This is a slideshow of Logans caterpillar. He found it while we were starting to move. The kids collected some milk weed from our yard and put the caterpillar in this jar. On the first day it hung itself upside down. Shortly after, it turned green as you can see in the pictures.
This morning the coccoon turned black. "I didn't take a picture". But when I came home from shopping the kids showed me that they had taken the stick with the butterfly on it outside. They explained to me that the reason he isn't flying away is because his wings have to dry off first.
I have to admit I didn't know this, But they have been reading all about it in some of their books.
I thought this was a pretty cool project that Logan did completely without me. I have been so busy with packing and moving, You could say he was on his own with this. He did pretty good!!! OH and when it flew away, He was mowing the lawn. He said it brushed against his head. So COOL!!!
