I took these pictures of the boys the day it started snowing---It has felt like it never quit since that day. We were starting to feel the chill in the air, so the boys bundled up, and went to put straw where the animals sleep. We were hoping it would help keep them warm. We all worry that it has been a hard winter on all the outdoor animals. We lost the show chickens to the cold weather, They were just to small to deal with all of it. As for the egg layers we lost one. He was booted out of the coop, by the other chickens and spent a night out in the cold. It froze his feet and he couldn't walk--so when Kevin got home he had to put him down.
We have all learned that this is just how farm life is, and sometimes stuff like that happens. Even though we have had our moments like this, we are grateful to have the good experiences that have come with it all.
